Magazine Issue 01

Say a really big HELLO to the first issue of the Cutting Craftorium Magazine and we are beyond excited and delighted.

It is our pleasure to introduce you to the joint Editors, Amy Dodd and Mel Heaton – da dah! Amy is the architect of the Cutting Craftorium USBs and has an impressive history! Amy is an Artist and has been a Model Maker winning an award from the Royal Television Society, a Games Animator winning a BAFTA , a Paper Sculptor, a Fashion Illustrator for High Street Companies and a Book Illustrator. Phew!

Of the 18 Cutting Craftorium USBs, 16 of them were designed by Amy. Not only does she design the projects, including those fabulous masterpieces, she actually puts them together, step by step, to make sure that they are perfect for you.

For those of you who watch Create and Craft TV, an introduction to Mel Heaton is really not needed. In fact, the Create and Craft Magazine and Blog call Mel ‘a crafting goddess!’ As well as being a goddess, she is a huge favourite and much on the channel. Mel represents the Disney paper crafting brand. She is also the ‘Guru’ for the Scan ‘n’ Cut, Tattered Lace USB, Cutterpillar and Todo brands.

Mel is a dedicated crafter, and after working well over 25 years in the craft industry, she is still loving her job! She told me that she thanks her lucky stars every day that she has a job that she absolutely adores. Her work has taken her to the USA and Europe, and has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry as a Product Developer, Sales and of course a Demonstrator. She has a plethora of knowledge of textiles, stamping, paper crafting and has been to the Scrapbook University! In her spare time she loves to attend the Crafting Live Shows and meet crafters in ‘the flesh’. Mel has been published in most of the Craft titles and is absolutely thrilled to be a Co-Editor of this brand new magazine.

So the future is a rainbow! Flick through the magazine, choose your favourite to try and get cutting. We have included gorgeous free papers for you to enhance all those fabulous projects. Whether it is a Carousel, a Beach Hut, a Post Box, or learning about foiling techniques, (and that is just some of the wonderful projects) the magazine is going to keep you busy. We look forward to seeing your makes in future editions!
